A response to a review of another coffee shop says it has the best coffee in Tucson:
"Crave is our "neighborhood" coffeehouse and, frankly, it made the whole area livable. They are very friendly, especially the owner. They have great pastries. However: coffee.. only so so. However, there is a new coffeehouse near campus, Cafe Luce, which has the best coffee in Tucson imho. They roast it there. Fresh! There are some other roasters in town but these guys seem to do it right. My second favorite, for espresso, is B-Line believe it or not."

We'll meet Monday Oct 29 at 7.00 pm in Pariso. Read Med 3 up to the bottom of p. 27, and Hatfield 141-156

Oct 29, Nov 2, 5, 9, 12, and 30

The next meeting of the Descartes reading group will be Oct 29, Nov 2, Nov 5,
Nov 9, Nov 12 and Nov 30. Oct 29, Nov 5th and 12th are Mondays, and we will
meet in the evening at 7 pm in Pariso. The other dates are Fridays, and we'll
meet 1.00 pm at Pariso. The Monday evening dates were picked because Bonnie and
Molly can make them, and they are doing this as indepenedent study. Perhaps the
rest of you could let me know which dates you can make.
I am happy to have further meetings, but exams will be upon shortly after Nov
30. We can decide later whether to meet again.
On Oct 29 we'll discuss Med 3 up to but not including the proof of the existence
of God.

Oct 12 and other future meetings

Molly and I can't make this Friday (Oct 12) and I will be out of town Oct 19, Oct 26, Nov 15 and Nov 22. That leaves Nov 2, 9 and 29, and Dec 7 and 14. That is 5 meetings. It would be nice to have more. Could we fit in a couple of evening meeetings? Tuesdays are out for me, and I am away Oct 17 to 29, and Nov 15 to 25. Let me know if you would like in principle a couple of extra meetings. If at least Bonnie and Molly would, we'll go ahead and try to fix some times.So next meeting is Nov 2, introduced by Molly.Thanks!

We'll meet to discuss Meditation 2 this Thursday, Oct 4, 1.00 pm in Cafe Pariso. Bonnie will open discussion.

In the meantime, here is some advice from Goethe about what to do each day, as partial means towards the good life: look at a good painting, listen to a fine piece of music, read a thoughtful poem and try to say something reasonable. Descartes would have approved. My friend Amy, a Descartes scholar, changed the last recommendation to "try to say something outrageous." I'd try to do both. I'd also add, back up your data.
